Official: Russia preparing for OPEC+ conference call on Thursday
MOSCOW, Apr 6 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is preparing for a conference call with OPEC plus member states on Thursday, spokesman for the president Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.
"It was postponed to Thursday (from Monday) for technical reasons, preparations for it are being carried out," Peskov said.
President Vladimir Putin said on April 3 that the OPEC plus members and the U.S. could reduce oil production by 10 million barrels per day from the January–March level to balance the oil market.
Peskov confirmed that participation of more states in the output cut deal is necessary.
"Participation of countries, which have not participated earlier in coordination is needed, this is what those in contact on the issue is talking about," he said.
The official also said that Putin has no plans to hold bilateral talks with Riyadh this week.
